CONSULTANT COSTS |

A consultant is identified as a person who has a particular skill
or a particular profession who is not an employee of USCRF/USC and
whose profession or skill is necessary for the performance of the
proposed project.
WARNING: Consultants using
their universities' facilities to perform the work may be required
by their institution to be identified as
Subcontractors rather than consultants.

Consultant charges may include fees,
travel and per diem or subsistence where applicable. If so,
they should not be included under Travel.
- USC Employees who act as
consultants on a USC Federally funded project must be identified
in the "Personnel" line item (not under
"Consultant" line item).
- Include a commitment letter from
each consultant in the proposal.
- For the required sole source
justification of the consultant(s), a USC Procurement Exemption
Certification form(s) must be completed in USCeRA at the proposal review stage.
The proposed consultant(s) must be named and justified in the
proposal.
